Happy New Year!!

As we ring in the New Year it is an exciting time to reflect on our accomplishments and review goals for what we have left to do in this school year.   Can you believe that we are halfway through this school year? Where did the time go? Starting a new decade has been especially eye-opening. Thinking about the last ten years in education is mindblowing.  The work that is required of the school, the teachers, the students, and their families has increased significantly during these years. We are all working hard to meet the challenges that come with change and prepare students for whatever path to college and career that they may choose.

Don Lancaster, an American author, inventor, and microcomputer pioneer said,

“Most “impossible” goals can be met simply by breaking them down into bite-size chunks, writing them down, believing them, and then going full speed ahead as if they were routine.”  We will be helping students look at their mid-year progress, breaking what they have left to do into bite-size chunks and then going full speed ahead as if it is just the routine. We know how to do hard things at Spring Creek and we know we can achieve our goals.

I chose a phrase for myself for 2020.  It is “make the best of It.” This first year of 2020 will be filled with challenges and hard things, but in spite of those I will make whatever situation that comes my way the best.  I want to look back on the year and say whatever came my way, I made the best of it. I hope that you will join me and your children as we work through the challenges and “make the best of it.”

We have so many exciting opportunities happening in the coming weeks and months.  Please visit the school website and social media often so that you don’t miss a thing.  We are definitely moving full steam ahead for the last half of this year. See you soon for Parent-Teacher Conferences in February.

I also want to take this opportunity to thank all those teachers, students, families, friends and community members that came together in the spirit of giving to help members of the Spring Creek Community that needed help during this holiday season.  Many needs were met, tears shed and grateful hearts filled. A huge shout out to Logan Telford for coordinating our efforts to make it happen.

¡¡Feliz año nuevo!!

Al comenzar el Año Nuevo, es un momento emocionante para reflexionar sobre nuestros logros y revisar las metas de lo que nos queda por hacer en este año escolar. ¿Pueden creer que ya estamos a la mitad de este año escolar? ¿Donde se fue el tiempo? Comenzar una nueva década ha sido especialmente revelador. Pensar en los últimos diez años que he tenido en el sistema educativo es alucinante. El trabajo que se requiere de la escuela, los maestros, los estudiantes y sus familias ha aumentado significativamente durante estos años. Todos estamos trabajando duro para enfrentar los desafíos que vienen con el cambio y preparar a los estudiantes para cualquier camino a la universidad y la carrera que puedan elegir.

Don Lancaster, un autor estadounidense, inventor y pionero de la microcomputadora, dijo:

“La mayoría de los objetivos “imposibles” se pueden cumplir simplemente dividiéndolos en trozos pequeños, escribiéndolos, creyéndolos y luego avanzando a toda velocidad como si fueran rutinarios”. Ayudaremos a los estudiantes a ver su progreso de mitad de año, dividiendo lo que les queda por hacer en trozos pequeños y luego avanzando a toda velocidad como si fuera la rutina. Sabemos cómo hacer cosas difíciles en Spring Creek y sabemos que podemos lograr nuestros objetivos.

Elegí una frase personal para 2020. Es “haz lo mejor que se pueda”. Este primer año de 2020 estará lleno de desafíos y cosas difíciles, pero a pesar de eso, haré lo mejor que se pueda. Quiero mirar hacia atrás en el año y decir que todo lo que se me presentó hice lo mejor que pude. Espero que se unan a mí y a sus hijos mientras trabajamos en los desafíos y “haremos lo mejor que se pueda”.

Tenemos muchas oportunidades emocionantes en las próximas semanas y meses. Visite el sitio web de la escuela y las redes sociales a menudo para no perderse nada. Definitivamente estamos avanzando a toda máquina durante la última mitad de este año. Nos vemos pronto para las conferencias de padres y maestros en febrero.

También quiero aprovechar esta oportunidad para agradecer a todos los maestros, estudiantes, familias, amigos y miembros de la comunidad que se unieron en el espíritu de dar para ayudar a los miembros de la comunidad de Spring Creek que necesitaban ayuda durante esta temporada de vacaciones. Se cubrieron muchas necesidades, se derramaron lágrimas y se llenaron corazones agradecidos. Un gran agradecimiento a Logan Telford por coordinar nuestros esfuerzos para que esto sucediera.
