MESSAGE FROM THE PTA

This time of year is an exciting time for PTA. Two of our biggest and most impactful events are right around this time. The first is Freedom Week, which was held this past week, January 27-31. As with all of our Freedom Weeks, we planned some really special activities to help the students appreciate all the freedoms we enjoy in our country. This year’s theme was, “With Great Freedom Comes Great Responsibility”. We had a wonderful line-up of activities to help the students understand the importance of being responsible with the freedoms that they are blessed with, including meeting with firefighters and policemen, voting on a service project the students would take part in performing for the community, and holding an exciting school assembly. We were honored to have the BYU ROTC Honor Guard, and we were so grateful to our student speakers for their lovely contribution to the assembly. Lastly, we enjoyed a fun-filled show from the BYU Dunk Team! Thanks to all those who helped make Freedom Week a success! We couldn’t have done it without you!

Our second big event, which is coming up quickly, is Staff Appreciation Week. If you haven’t had a chance to get to know your student’s teacher and the staff at Spring Creek Elementary, you should take some time to do so. We are so lucky to have the dedicated, hardworking, and awesome staff that we do! Staff Appreciation Week is March 30- April 3 and it’s a huge PTA event to show our staff some much-deserved love. We work really hard to make this week as fun and celebratory as possible, but it takes a lot of hands in order to pull it off so if you’re interested in being involved in any capacity—decorating at the school, helping with food, gathering donations, donating from a business you have access to, putting gifts together at home, etc.—we need all the help we can get! Please contact us at springcreekpta@gmail.com or attend our next PTA meeting, which will be on Friday, February 7, in the Spring Creek Library. You don’t need to be a PTA member to be involved in Staff Appreciation Week or in helping with anything that PTA does. We love to have any help from anyone that is willing!

Spring Creek Elementary is an awesome school and we’re lucky to benefit from the many great programs that are available to our students. If you or your student want to be involved in more activities, don’t hesitate to reach out and ask! PTA is always willing to answer any questions and the Spring Creek teachers and staff bend over backwards to help any student they can. We love our school community and we want everyone to be a part of it!
