Spring Creek Elementary School

BYU’s Capstone students from the Engineering Department who are participating in the National Collegiate Wind Energy Competition in May 2024 (hosted by the Department of Energy) came to our third grade classes to teach about how both magnets and wind power can create electricity. Students saw how force and motion work together to create energy which in turn provides electricity for people around the world. They learned that wind power energy can be stored so that it can be used to create electricity when the wind does not blow. They also saw how wind turbines are built and just how huge they are!
