Important Information & Dates for Week of October 28th
October 25, 2024
Spring Creek Parents,
I hope everyone had a great Fall break!! We were able to have some training for Teachers on Tuesday and were able to get some good work done. Please remember to fill out the student strength form for your kids if you have not yet: Student Strength Form. Thank you to all of you who have filled out the form. We are excited to focus on your kids’ strengths this year.
Weekly family talking point: Bus behavior
Possible discussion questions:
1. How do you think you should behave while on the bus? What does that look like?
2. What kinds of behaviors do you see on the bus that you shouldn’t see on the bus?
3. What can you do to remember to behave properly on the bus.
4. What do you do if you see an inappropriate behavior on the bus.
Thank you,
Have a great weekend!
Sincerely,
Jay Porter
Principal, Spring Creek Elementary

Book Fair
Get ready—the Scholastic Book Fair is coming to our school! This is a great opportunity to connect with your child over the thrill of bringing home new books to dive into again and again. Studies show that kids read more when they choose books for themselves. And fostering a love of independent reading leads to a wide variety of benefits—including academic success and improved mental health. The Fair will begin on Monday, November 11th. Students will be previewing the fair on Monday and Tuesday. The Fair will be open Wednesday and Thursday, November 13 and 14 for students to purchase their books. The Fair will be open these two days during Parent Teacher conferences.
Dates: November 11-15
Location: Spring Creek Library
Stem Fair
It’s time to start thinking about your STEM Fair project! This year our STEM Fair will be held on January 23rd. We are transitioning to a more research-based STEM fair, instead of experimenting like the District has done in the past few years. 5th and 6th graders will have the opportunity to participate in our Fair, while the younger grades will have the opportunity to observe them throughout the process! It is always best to start thinking about your project early. For more information, please visit our website here.
