School-Parent-Family Compact

2024-2025

This compact outlines how parents, the entire school staff, and students will share responsibility for improved academic achievement and the means by which the school and parents will build and develop a partnership to help children achieve the state’s high standards.

The Student will:

  • Attend school regularly and on time.
  • Complete assignments and homework and return them to the teacher on time.
  • SOAR!Show Kindness • Own Your Learning • Act Safely • Respond Responsibly

The Parent will:

Support my children in their learning by:

  • Making sure my child attends daily and is on time to school
  • Seeing that my child is well rested and has breakfast/lunch/dinner each day
  • Encouraging a positive attitude towards school
  • Reviewing information and work sent home and responding as necessary

Participate in decisions relating to the education of my children by:

  • Attending Parent Teacher Conferences
  • Maintaining an open line of communication with my child’s teacher
  • Supporting the school and staff in maintaining safety and discipline

Volunteer when possible

  • PTA, SCC, Watch DOGS, After School Program, room parent, classroom volunteers

Support my child with a positive use of extra-curricular time by:

  • Reading with my child
  • Facilitating healthy activities

Establish a distraction-free place and time for assisting my child with assignments

The Teacher will:

Provide high quality, engaging curriculum and instruction in a supportive and effective learning environment that enables children to meet challenging State academic standards by:

  • Holding high expectations for all students and having a belief that all students can learn
  • Providing opportunities for parents to assist in the classroom
  • Providing a safe environment for students to learn
  • Using the elements of teacher clarity in daily instruction

Engage in two-way, meaningful communication –

  • Parent-Teacher Conferences, phone calls, and emails/notes sent home
  • Frequently report student progress
  • Review School-Parent-Family Compact
  • Provide translation services as necessary

The School will:

Provide high quality, engaging curriculum and instruction in a supportive and effective learning environment that enables children to meet challenging State academic standards by:

  • Creating a culture of continuous progress for all by using the Spring Creek LEARN tools:
    • L- Learn from mistakes
    • E- Everyone contributes
    • A- Ask questions and accept challenges
    • R- Reflect and respond to feedback
    • N- Never give up
  • Promoting a kind, safe and responsible environment for learning

Engage in two-way, meaningful communication

• Provide opportunities for parents to volunteer, observe, participate in decision making

• Provide translation services as necessary

Send home 4 standards reports per year
