Spring Creek Parents,

     Twas the week before break and all through the school

     all the kiddos were stirring but the faculty was cool. 

     200 coats hung in the lost and found with care

     in hopes that children will claim them and not have their arms bare.

     Coughing, sneezing and an occasional puke on the floor 

     have us hoping we’ll make it one week more.

     When down in the gym there arose such a melodious noise.

     Come to find out it is the choir, some girls and some boys.

     All students have worked hard in Reading, Math and Science they take.

     It is time for them to step back, enjoy family, and have a  nice break.

     The hallways will be dark, lunchroom quiet, classrooms no one will speak.

     We wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from Spring creek.

Family talking point: Making little things into big things.

When I was a boy I hated green beans.  My mother would put three beans on my plate and say I couldn’t get down until I ate them.  I would sometimes spend three hours at the table.  I turned something very small into a huge deal.  This happens with students often.  There is value in learning to keep small things small.

possible questions to ask:  

1. Have you ever overreacted to a situation?

2. How do you know if something is not a big deal, or is a big deal?

3.How can you prevent yourself from making things bigger than they need to be?

Choir

No choir this week.  Rehearsals will resume Tuesday, January 14th.  All 3rd-6th graders are invited to join us for the second semester.

A BIG thank you to all those who helped make our Santa Shop a success! From those who came to help set up, to those who helped students shop, and those who did all the behind-the-scenes work, we thank you and could not have done this without you! Thank you for taking time out of your busy day during a busy holiday season to bring a smile to a student’s face. You make all the difference!

Hot Cocoa & Cookie Bar

PTA is putting together a hot cocoa and cookie bar for our wonderful staff at Spring Creek! Show your appreciation for them by signing up to make some cookies or bring a fruit tray: sign up here to bring cookies or a fruit tray. 

Stem Fair

This year our STEM Fair will be held on Thursday, January 23rd, 2025. We are transitioning to a more research-based STEM fair, instead of experimenting like the District has done in the past few years. Only 5th and 6th graders will have the opportunity to participate in our Fair, while the younger grades will have the opportunity to observe them throughout the process!
