Spring Creek Parents,

     We have had a great week here at Spring Creek!  We celebrated our STEM participants with an Ice cream party, had an author come and talk to our 5th and 6th grade students and she gave them a free copy of her new book, had a Principal’s 200 Club Celebration doing minute to win it games, helped prepare our language learners for the upcoming WIDA test, and had a double DOG day with our watch DOGS today! 

     We will be having a Donuts and DOGS night (Dads Of Great Students) event this Thursday at 5:30pm where we would like to have some fun with Father figures.  This is to help us reinvigorate our Watch DOGS program and get dads to sign up.  Please return the blue slip indicating if you will be attending so that we can order enough food. See attached information flyer.

Family Talking Points:  Owning Your Learning

The O in SOAR stands for own your learning.  We are trying to instill in students that they are responsible for their learning.  The teacher is there to guide and help them learn but they have to put effort in, ask questions when they are confused, stay on task, seek understanding.

Possible questions:  

1. What does it mean to put effort into your work in school?
2. What can you do to make sure you are learning at school?
3. What makes learning difficult in school?
4. How can a teacher help you learn those difficult topics?

Emergency Drill (Lockout Secure)

Spring Creek Elementary informs parents prior to the monthly Emergency Drills taking place at the school. On Thursday Feb 6th, we will be conducting a Lockout Secure Emergency Drill and will be following the Provo City School District Procedures.

PTA

In order to accommodate working parents, our next PTA meeting will be on Thursday, February 13, at 5:30pm at the school. You’ll get to hear from our principal and school staff about all the good things going on at our school, and you’ll also get to be a part of the planning for Staff Appreciation Week (March 24-28). In the meantime, please sign up here to decorate a teacher or staff member’s door for that week:

Spring Creek PTA News – February 2025

Staff Appreciation Week is coming up at the end of March! We love sending our staff off to Spring Break on a high note. We will need volunteers to help with door decorations and will also likely need help with food items. Our theme this year is The Wizard of Oz and also encompasses the Wicked universe. If you have fun ideas for decorations, themed food, or would like to volunteer to decorate a door, please contact us.

    • In January, Jay and Brooke made sure that all the communication got out for digital safety week. They always attend meetings and keep us up to date on all that is going on in the school and the ways PTA can support those programs.
