Dear Spring Creek Families,
What an amazing first week of school!! Thank you for your support of our Back to School Night. It was wonderful to see so many families again and welcome new ones to our community. As I introduced at Back to School Night, we have a new Spring Creek Parent & Student Handbook that can be found on our school website. You will find that many of the questions you have about Spring Creek can be answered by finding the topic in the linked table of contents. There is an English and Spanish version too.
As you may have heard, we have new SOAR cards this year to recognize students who are Showing kindness, Owning learning, Acting safely and Responding responsibly. Every Monday there will be student SOAR cards drawn and prizes awarded to students. We will also be recognizing students and classes for regular, on-time attendance. In just the first 3 days of school, I’ve seen countless examples of students demonstrating our SOAR qualities.
This week on August 23, we look forward to welcoming our new Preschool and Kindergarten students to school. The same day will be our first regular release at 3:30 pm for all students.
Thank you to our PTA, parents, students and amazing teachers and staff for making the first week of school a happy, safe and memorable one for everyone.
Spring Hawks don’t fly, WE SOAR!
Mrs. Snow, Principal

Reminder to update your online forms in PowerSchool at grades.provo.edu if you have not done so already. All parents/guardians are required to update the online forms in their Parent Portal Account on Powerschool every year. Contact the school office at 801-370-4650 if you have forgotten your login information and they will reset it for you.
Tuesday, August 22nd from 3:00 – 4:00 — Open House Style. Come anytime during this hour and spend a few minutes meeting the teacher and getting familiar with the classroom. We ask that if possible other siblings do not come to the Meet Your Teacher activity. We understand that this may not be possible for everyone. We recommend that you plan to take your pictures in the classroom during this time as we will not have parents come into the classroom on the first day of school. Having so many adults in the classroom on the first day of school is overwhelming to many students. We have found that students do much better saying goodbye to their parents outside. Thank you for your understanding and help with this.
First Day of School for Kindergarten is Wednesday, August 23rd Kindergarten students will be following the regular school schedule. 8:40am – 3:30pm: Monday – Thursday 8:40am – 1:30pm: Friday’s and Early Release Days
During music this week the 6th graders will attend an introduction class for our three music classes; Band, Orchestra, and Sound Factory (ukuleles/drums). Watch for the sign-up forms to come home on Wednesday, August 23rd. Each 6th grader will need to select their class of choice, and return the form to the school by Friday, August 25th.
We are so excited to jump right into this year and we’ll be having our first meeting Friday August 25th at 10am in the library! We’ll be discussing our plans for the Spectacular Color Festival!
Family Reads notes were sent home last Friday. If you didn’t see one, we’ve also attached the note below. Don’t forget to request a book from our Family Reads Google form if you haven’t already. There is more information on how to do this on our school website. We hope those who got books on Friday are enjoying reading them with their family! When you finish the book remember to take a picture of your family with the book and email your picture and a short review to Mrs. Blair ( michellebl@provo.edu). We will post these on our Family Reads bulletin board. After you’ve done this, you can request another book!
