Spring Creek Parents,
Hoping everyone had a good thanksgiving break! I have really been impressed with my visits to classrooms this week. Our teachers are striving to meet your children’s needs and adapting their instruction to meet them where they will learn best. I also appreciate your support in helping your children with academics and behaviors at home. Please continue to be involved and be proactive in helping your children.
Weekly family discussion point: cyber bullying
Students these days have social media accounts and access to email and multitudes of apps where they can communicate with other people. Unfortunately these are, at times, used to insult and intimidate other people. We have seen some of this in school and I am sure that there is much more that we don’t see.
Talking points:
What social media accounts do you have?
Have you ever seen people say mean or inappropriate things?
Have you every sent mean messages to friends?
Do you have accounts that you don’t want people to know about?
What can you do when someone you know is doing something mean to someone online?
Thank you,
Jay Porter
Principal, Spring Creek Elementary

The Spring Creek PTA Santa Shop is THIS WEEK (December 10-13)! Your student should have received a flyer with more information. Watch for a text message over the weekend containing a link to a video of everything we’ll have for sale. Your student will come home with a wishlist; please help them to fill it out so they know what they will be buying when they shop. We still need A LOT of volunteers, so please sign up here to help students shop.

Our Spring Creek Choir and 6th Grade Sound Factory will perform this Thursday, December 12 at 10:00 a.m. for the school. Only the choir will perform for the evening family concert at 7:00 p.m. Please have the singers arrive to warm-up at 6:30 p.m.
This year our STEM Fair will be held on Thursday, January 23rd, 2025. We are transitioning to a more research-based STEM fair, instead of experimenting like the District has done in the past few years. Only 5th and 6th graders will have the opportunity to participate in our Fair, while the younger grades will have the opportunity to observe them throughout the process! It is always best to start thinking about your project early, especially during holiday breaks! For more information, please visit our S.T.E.M. Fair website here.
Our Artist of the Month for December is from Miss Whittingham’s 3rd grade class. This student stands out for his incredible attention to detail in his artwork, always taking the time to ensure every piece is thoughtful and creative. He is not only a talented artist but also a kind and helpful classmate, always ready to lend a hand to others and show respect for the art materials and classroom environment. His dedication and positive attitude make him a role model for his peers. Congratulations! Keep up the amazing work!
