Spring Creek Parents,

Happy Valentine’s Day parents!!  We have had a great week with some hairy weather and appreciate your patience with canceling the afterschool program yesterday and getting everyone in and out of the parking lot safely. Remember there is no school on Monday for Presidents’ Day.

We try and teach our students how to build trust with those around you. This is an important principle for our students to understand and will help them be successful in the future.

Possible questions:

• What does it mean to be trustworthy?
• How do you lose someone’s trust?
• How do you gain someone’s trust?
• Why is it important for people to be able to trust you?

Thank you to all who participated in Kindness Week, and a big thank you to Miss Bevans, our art teacher, Spring Creek’s Kindness Club, and Mr. Parks, our social worker, for helping to make this week a success!

Parent Teacher Conferences!

Parent Teacher Conferences will be held on Wednesday, February 26th from 1:45-4:00 and Thursday, February 27th from 1:45-7:00 pm. Some appointments will also be available on Friday, February 28th from 1:45-4:00. We will be using the website Sign-Up Genius to schedule our conferences. Please see our school website to access your teacher’s Sign-Up Genius page and sign up for an appointment with your child’s teacher. 

Please sign up as soon as possible so that we can arrange for support with translation and other assistance as needed.

Book Fair

Get ready—the Spring Scholastic Book Fair is coming to Spring Creek! This is a great opportunity to connect with your child over the thrill of bringing home new books to dive into again and again. Studies show that kids read more when they choose books for themselves. A love of independent reading boosts academic success, plus children who read more frequently also report improved mental health.

Here’s everything you need to know about the Book Fair:

• Dates: Monday Feb 24th – Thursday Feb 27th
• Location: Spring Creek Library

We will be open until 5:00 pm on Wednesday and until 7:00 pm on Thursday during Parent-Teacher Conferences. Please stop by and shop before or after your meeting with your child’s teacher.

While you’re there, set up a Book Fair eWallet, the digital payment account that allows your child to shop for books at the Fair without cash. Then share your eWallet link so friends and extended family can add funds.

When you fund an eWallet, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to a giving initiative called Share the Fair™. Your contributions directly support our students who need help buying books from the Fair.

5th Grade Camp Big Springs

Each summer Provo City School District, in conjunction with Provo City Parks and Recreation, provides an Outdoor Education (summer STEM camp) Program. This is a co-curricular program that is an extension of the current fifth grade STEM curriculum. Students just finishing fifth grade are invited to participate and will spend five days at a camp located up the South Fork of Provo Canyon where they will be involved in activities such as hands-on science experiences, arts & crafts, sports & recreation and campfire programs. • Tuesday, Feb 18th: Registration Opens (closes March 7th or until filled)
• Payments or Scholarship Form must be submitted with the Application. Scholarship Forms can be picked up in the school office.
• Friday, March 7th: All registration fees and online registration forms are due
