Dear Spring Creek Families,

Happy holidays! What a wonderful week it has been enjoying the talents and hard work of our students. A huge thank you to Mrs. Gylseth, our choir teacher and Mrs. Cook, our parent volunteer pianist, and students who worked tirelessly to bless us with their beautiful holiday music. We also had the opportunity to hear our 6th Grade Sound Factory perform. Please see the attached flier and signature page for the PRINCIPALS HOLIDAY READING CHALLENGE. Students who read 200 minutes over the break, will be invited to a donut party with me the week of January 9, 2023. SIGNED PARENT FORMS WILL BE DUE NO LATER THAN FRIDAY, JANUARY 6, 2023 to the office. Please see attachment for more information.

This week is Holiday Spirit Week. Everyone is encouraged to participate!

• Monday, Dec. 12th — Wear your favorite Christmas socks
• Tuesday, Dec. 13th — Wear red 
• Wednesday, Dec. 14th — Wear your best holiday accessories (jewelry, scarves, hats, headbands, etc.)
• Thursday, Dec. 15th— Wear your favorite holiday attire (sweater, shirt, dress, etc.)
• Friday, Dec. 16th  – Wear your green school shirt, or anything green.

Finally, I hope you all have a wonderful, healthy and safe holiday break. I am grateful for each of your families and your children. It is a great blessing to be a part of the Spring Creek Community.

Choir

There is no choir this week. Choir rehearsals will resume on Thursday, January 19th.  We will gladly take more singers in 3rd-6th grade at that time.

Evacuation Drill

Spring Creek Elementary informs parents via a ParentLink email prior to the monthly Emergency Drills taking place at the school. On Monday, Dec 12th, we will be conducting an Evacuation Drill and will be following the Provo City School District Procedures found on the attached document.-  Emergency_Procedures

Stem Fair

Get excited for our STEM Fair! Here is the link to our STEM Page for December, where you can find the links to the required applications and helpful information to get your project started!

If your child is ready to get started, they will need to fill out an application. This can either be found in the link above or they can pick up a hard copy from Mrs. Kempter in room #212. Once they have finished their application, they need to give it to Mrs. Kempter. Mrs. Kempter will then give your child a coupon for a free poster board. They will then take this coupon to the office to redeem it. 

Applications for the after school support club are also open for the STEM Fair! You can pick up a hard copy, or you can use the page above to find the link to print them yourself. This group is for students to work on their project or ask Mrs. Kempter questions about their project.

Centro Hispano Dia de los Reyes Magos and Toy Drive * The Día de los Reyes Magos (Three Kings Day) event  January 6, 2023  at Provo Library on the 3rd floor of the Academy  6:00 – 8:00pm  550 University Ave.

Estimadas familias de Spring Creek,

¡Felices vacaciones! Qué semana tan maravillosa ha sido disfrutar de los talentos y el arduo trabajo de nuestros estudiantes. Muchas gracias a la Sra. Gylseth, nuestra maestra de coro ya la Sra. Cook, nuestra pianista voluntaria ya los estudiantes que trabajaron incansablemente para bendecirnos con su hermosa música navideña. También tuvimos la oportunidad de escuchar la actuación de nuestra fábrica de sonido de sexto grado. Consulte el volante adjunto y la pagina de firmas  para el DESAFÍO DE LECTURA LA DIRECTORA. Los estudiantes que lean 200 minutos durante el receso serán invitados a una fiesta de donas conmigo la semana del 9 de enero de 2023. LOS FORMULARIOS DE LOS PADRES FIRMADOS SE ENTREGARÁN A MÁS TARDAR EL VIERNES 6 DE ENERO DE 2023 EN LA OFICINA. Consulte el archivo adjunto para obtener más información.

Esta semana es la semana del espíritu navideño. ¡Todos están invitados a participar!

• Lunes 12 de diciembre: use sus calcetines navideños favoritos
• Martes, 13 de diciembre: vístase de rojo
• Miércoles 14 de diciembre: use sus mejores accesorios navideños (joyas, bufandas, sombreros, diademas, etc.)
• Jueves, 15 de diciembre: use su atuendo festivo favorito (suéter, camisa, vestido, etc.)
• Viernes, 16 de diciembre: use su camisa verde de la escuela o algo verde.

Finalmente, espero que todos tengan unas vacaciones maravillosas, saludables y seguras. Estoy agradecido por cada una de sus familias y sus hijos. Es una gran bendición ser parte de la comunidad de Spring Creek.

Coro

No hay coro esta semana. Los ensayos del coro se reanudarán el jueves 19 de enero. Con mucho gusto aceptaremos más cantantes de 3° a 6° grado en ese momento.

Próximos Asuntos del Calendario

Simulacro de evacuación

Spring Creek Elementary informa a los padres a través de un correo electrónico de ParentLink antes de los simulacros de emergencia mensuales que se llevan a cabo en la escuela. El lunes 12 de diciembre realizaremos un simulacro de evacuación y seguiremos los procedimientos del distrito escolar de la ciudad de Provo que se encuentran en el documento adjunto.- Emergency_Procedures

Feria de Ciencias STEM

¡Unete a nuestra Feria STEM! ¡Aquí está el enlace a nuestra página STEM de diciembre, donde puede encontrar los enlaces a las aplicaciones requeridas e información útil para comenzar su proyecto!

Si su hijo está listo para comenzar, deberá completar una solicitud. Esto se puede encontrar en el enlace de arriba o pueden recoger una copia impresa de la Sra. Kempter en el salón #212. Una vez que hayan terminado su solicitud, deben dársela a la Sra. Kempter. La Sra. Kempter luego le dará a su hijo un cupón para una cartulina gratis. Luego llevarán este cupón a la oficina para canjearlo.

¡Las solicitudes para el club de apoyo extracurricular también están abiertas para la Feria STEM! Puede recoger una copia impresa, o puede usar la página de arriba para encontrar el enlace para imprimirlos usted mismo. Este grupo es para que los estudiantes trabajen en su proyecto o le hagan preguntas a la Sra. Kempter sobre su proyecto.
