Spring Creek Elementary School

Dear Spring Creek Families,

It has been wonderful to be back in school with students and see them diving into learning once again! This week I have seen students making responsible, smart, and kind choices in the hallways, at recess, in the lunchroom and in their classrooms. Thank you for helping us support students in making positive choices at school.

With the weather being colder, we are happy to announce that we will have an open gym an additional day each week (Fridays) for students to come and play before school starts (8:15-8:35 am). The Mindfulness Room will also be open for students who need a quiet space to relax before heading to class.

This week, students who completed the Principal’s Reading Challenge and turned in a signed parent note, will be invited to a Donut Party on Thursday, January 12. Please see the rest of the announcements for important information about Choir, the STEM Fair, Art, After School Program, Family Reads Program and PTA.

Have a great week,

Principal Snow

STEM Fair

Get excited for our STEM Fair! Here is the link to our STEM Page for January, where you can find the links to the required applications and helpful information to get your project started!

If your child is ready to get started, they will need to fill out an application. This can either be found in the link above or they can pick up a hard copy from Mrs. Kempter in room #212. Once they have finished their application, they need to give it to Mrs. Kempter. Mrs. Kempter will then give your child a coupon for a free poster board. They will then take this coupon to the office to redeem it. All project applications are due on January 23rd and the STEM Fair will be on January 26th.

Applications for the after school support club are also open for the STEM Fair! You can pick up a hard copy, or you can use the link above to print them yourself. This is for students to work on their project or ask Mrs. Kempter questions. We will meet this week and next week to finalize STEM Fair projects.

Family Reads – Request your FREE book!

Parents, just a reminder that effective now, instead of each family being able to request a free book, we are opening it up to each student! We hope this change will help build your family library at home and encourage reading at home together as a family. Please be sure to submit a request for your free book on our Family Reads form! If you have any questions, please email Mrs. Blair. (michellebl@provo.edu)

PTA Message

Is one of your New Year’s Resolutions to be more involved? We’d love to have your input and insight in PTA! We are meeting this Friday, the 13th at 10am in the library! One of the agenda items is Staff Appreciation Week which will have lots of opportunities for volunteering.
