Spring Creek Parents,
A big thank you for coming out to parent teacher conferences. It was fun to see your families and sit in on some of the conferences. Our teachers are great and I can see the love and concern they have for your children and their education. It was also fun to get to meet our new mascot!! It is yet to be named and we will have a vote on its name in the coming weeks!! If you did not get a chance to come in and visit with the teacher please get in contact with them and find out how your student is doing academically, socially, and behaviorally. Thank you for all you do for your children.
Family talking point: Sportsmanship
We try to teach students to be good sports, talking about good winning and good losing.
Possible questions to guide your discussions:
1. What does it mean to be a good winner and what would that look like?
2. What does it mean to be a good loser and what does that look like?
3. What can losing teach you?
4. How might the other side feel if you win and rub it in their face??
Thank you,
Jay Porter
Principal, Spring Creek Elementary

Lastly, here is the slate of PTA nominees for the 2025-2026 school year:
We will be holding elections at our March 7 (10:00am) PTA meeting (only those who are members of PTA can vote). If you would like to be considered for the position of president-elect, treasurer, or secretary, and you are a PTA member, you have until March 2nd at 10:00am to send a letter of intent to springcreekpta@gmail.com
Regardless of whether or not you’re a PTA member, we hope you’ll join us for our meeting on March 7 where we finalize plans for Staff Appreciation Week!
Thank you for supporting our Family Reads program and requesting a book during our PTC week! We will contact the winners of our Amazon gift cards next Monday!
If you didn’t get a Family Reads flyer from your child’s teacher at your PTC appointment, see the attached flyer. Don’t forget to request a book from our Family Reads Google form if you haven’t already. There is more information on how to do this on our Family Reads page on the school website. We hope those who have received books this year have enjoyed reading them with their family! When you finish a book, remember to take a picture of your family with the book and email your picture and a short review to Mrs. Blair ( michellebl@provo.edu). We will post these on our Family Reads bulletin board. After you’ve done this, you can request another book!
