Spring Creek Elementary School

The University of Utah Book Arts Program gave an awesome presentation to our third grade students on Jan. 11th. Students learned about the history of books and were able to handle and view ancient books and book making objects including a 5,000 year old facsimile of a cuneiform tablet, an Egyptian papyrus, Chinese jade carvings, as well as very small “moving picture” and a modern-day Kindle. Students also wrote their names in Egyptian Hieroglyphs on papyrus bookmarks. We appreciate Ms. Jazmin making time to travel to our school and give this great opportunity to our students!
