Spring Creek Elementary School

After School Program Chess Club with Mr Salgy – Chess is a 1,400 year old strategy game that is still played today around the world with about 605 million players; adults and children alike. Studies at University levels have discovered that Chess is a wonderful tool for children. Students who play chess show significant improvement in visual memory, attention span, and spatial-reasoning ability. It enhances reading and math skills because it requires decoding, thinking, comprehension, and analysis. Chess also helps with logic, critical thinking, and creativity. In Chess Club, we also learn Chess etiquette, sportsmanship, beginning and advanced Chess strategies, and more!
