Dear Spring Creek Families,

At Spring Creek, teachers and students alike work together to LEARN. Our LEARN tools help build resilience and remind us to have a growth mindset. These are powerful tools for students to incorporate. We encourage you to discuss these with your students often.

Please check our school website and calendar often. Fall Break will be Thursday, October 13 – Tuesday, October 18. Students return to school on Wednesday, October 19. 

VISITOR MANAGEMENT UPGRADES

The first thing you need to know is you will need to present your government-issued ID to begin the check-in process. Please make sure you bring it along. 

If you don’t have a government issued ID, you can press the call button near the visitor management kiosk and speak directly to a secretary for assistance.

So here are the simple steps:

• When you enter a school, report directly to the designated visitor management kiosk.  There are signs letting you know where this is located. Choose either English or Spanish by clicking on the language option in the top right-hand corner of the screen.
• Scan your government ID’s barcode.
• If this is your first time using the system, the kiosk will take a photo of you to use for your visitor badge. You can choose to retake your picture or proceed to the next step.
• In the next step, select your reason for visiting or your destination in the school.
• When the system clears you a visitor badge will print in the main office. You must wear your badge at all times while on school grounds.
• Once you have completed these steps, press the call button located near the kiosk. The secretary will open the door and you can pick up your badge from the main office.
• The badge will include your name, photo, date, time of entry, and your destination within the school.
• The Visitor Management System does not use your information for any other purpose, so there is no need to worry about privacy.
• When you have finished your visit to the school, we ask that you return to the front desk to hand your badge to the secretary and then visit the kiosk once more for check-out.
• Simply reScan your ID to automatically sign out.

We know your time is important and we want your visit to Spring Creek to be positive. The Visitor Management System scanning process takes less than a minute, and it’s time well spent to ensure a high level of security within our school. HALLOWEEN PARADE INFORMATION

Halloween Parade, Monday, October 31 at 3:00 pm (outside weather permitting)

As you choose a costume, please remember the following guidelines:

• NO TOY GUNS, SWORDS, WEAPONS OR MASKS
• Clothing and grooming should not distract from the learning environment.
• All clothing should reach below mid-thigh length when seated.
• Clothing shall cover the midriff, underwear, backs, and chest at all times.
• Clothing with inappropriate pictures or messages are not allowed.
• Gang related styles and insignia are prohibited.
• Appropriate clothing and shoes for the weather and PE class should be worn.
• Hats and attached hoods on jackets or hoodies are not to be worn inside the building 

Attention Artists!!! 

With the holiday season swiftly approaching, we are excited to announce this year’s Annual Spiritual & Religious Youth Art Competition held by the Springville Museum of Art. This exhibition is open to K-10 students living in Utah Valley. Students entering are to create artwork that will go along with themes found in our concurrent exhibition, Sanctuaries. The prompt for this year’s Art Competition will focus on the concept of sanctuaries and what that means to each student. We encourage students to consider the following when exploring subject matter:

“Offering sanctuary is a revolutionary act; it expresses love, when others offer scorn or hate. It recognizes humanity, when others deny and seek to debase it. Sanctuary says ‘we’ rather than ‘I’. It is belonging – the building block of the community.”

Estimadas familias de Spring Creek,

En Spring Creek, tanto los maestros como los estudiantes trabajan juntos para APRENDER. ACTUALIZACIONES DE GESTIÓN DE VISITANTES

El Distrito Escolar de la Ciudad de Provo utiliza un sistema de manejo de visitantes para ayudar a mantener un ambiente seguro en nuestras Escuelas Piloto. Nuestras escuelas piloto son Amelia Earhart Elementary, Spring Creek Elementary, Rock Canyon Elementary, Sunset View Elementary, y ahora incluye Westridge Elementary, Canyon Crest Elementary, Lakeview Elementary, y Timpanogos Elementary. Hemos creado un video rápido para ayudarle a navegar por este sistema.  

Lo primero que debe saber es que deberá presentar su identificación emitida por el gobierno para comenzar el proceso de registro. Por favor, asegúrese de traer su identificación.

Si no tiene una identificación emitida por el gobierno, puede presionar el botón de llamada cerca del quiosco de administración de visitantes y hablar directamente con la secretaría para obtener ayuda.

Estos son los pasos:

• Cuando ingrese a una escuela, diríjase directamente al quiosco designado para los visitantes. Busque los carteles que le indicarán dónde se encuentra este quiosco.
• Elija inglés o español haciendo clic en la opción de idioma en la esquina superior derecha de la pantalla.
• Escanee el código de barras de su identificación gubernamental.
• Si esta es su primera vez que usa el sistema, el quiosco le tomará una foto para usarla para el rótulo de visitante. Usted puede elegir volver a tomar la foto o continuar con el siguiente paso.
• En el siguiente paso, seleccione el motivo de su visita o su destino en la escuela.
• Cuando el sistema lo autorice, se imprimirá un rótulo de visitante en la oficina principal. Debe usar este rótulo en todo momento mientras esté en la escuela.
• Una vez que haya completado estos pasos, presione el botón de llamada ubicado cerca del quiosco. La secretaría abrirá la puerta y podrá recoger su rótulo en la oficina principal.
• El rótulo incluirá su nombre, foto, la fecha, hora de entrada y su destino dentro de la escuela.
• El Sistema de manejo de visitantes no utiliza su información para ningún otro propósito, por lo que no debe preocuparse por su privacidad.
• Cuando haya terminado su visita a la escuela, le pedimos que regrese a la recepción para entregar su rótulo a la secretaria y luego visite el quiosco una vez más para anotar su salida.
• Simplemente vuelva a escanear su tarjeta de identificación para cerrar la sesión automáticamente.

Sabemos que su tiempo es importante y queremos que su visita a nuestras escuelas sea positiva. La seguridad de nuestros estudiantes siempre será nuestra máxima prioridad, por lo que pedimos su cooperación y comprensión al navegar por este sistema. El proceso de escaneo del Sistema de manejo de Visitantes toma menos de un minuto y es un tiempo bien invertido para garantizar un alto nivel de seguridad dentro de nuestras escuelas. INFORMACIÓN DEL DESFILE DE HALLOWEEN

Desfile de Halloween, lunes 31 de octubre a las 3:00 p. m. (si el clima lo permite)

Al elegir un disfraz, recuerde las siguientes pautas:

• NO PISTOLAS DE JUGUETE, ESPADAS, ARMAS O MÁSCARAS
• La ropa y el arreglo personal no deben distraer la atención del entorno de aprendizaje.
• Toda la ropa debe llegar por debajo de la mitad del muslo cuando se está sentado.
• La ropa deberá cubrir el estómago, la ropa interior, la espalda y el pecho en todo momento.
• No se permite ropa con imágenes o mensajes inapropiados.
• Los estilos e insignias relacionados con pandillas están prohibidos.
• Se debe usar ropa y zapatos apropiados para el clima y la clase de educación física.
• Los sombreros y las capuchas adheridas a las chaquetas o sudaderas con capucha no deben usarse dentro del edificio.

Atención Artistas!!!

Con la temporada navideña acercándose rápidamente, nos complace anunciar el Concurso Anual de Arte Juvenil Religioso y Espiritual de este año organizado por el Museo de Arte de Springville. Esta exhibición está abierta a estudiantes de K-10 que viven en el Valle de Utah. Los estudiantes que ingresan deben crear obras de arte que acompañarán los temas que se encuentran en nuestra exhibición simultánea, Santuarios. El mensaje para el Concurso de Arte de este año se centrará en el concepto de santuarios y lo que eso significa para cada estudiante. Alentamos a los estudiantes a considerar lo siguiente al explorar el tema:

“Ofrecer santuario es un acto revolucionario; expresa amor, cuando otros ofrecen desprecio u odio. Reconoce la humanidad, cuando otros la niegan y buscan envilecer. Sanctuario dice ‘nosotros’ en lugar de ‘yo’. Es pertenecer, el bloque de construcción de la comunidad”.
