Mrs. Martinez’s class had an awesome STEAM activity and learned about pumpkins! “First we made guesses about how many seeds would be inside our pumpkin and put our guess on the front board. Then, we gutted a pumpkin! We played in the pulp and seeds a little, we counted all the seeds by grouping them in groups of 10. Our pumpkin had 414 seeds inside!! The students then wrote about what we did and illustrated it. Last, we read our Scholastic News about what happens to Jack-O-Lanterns after they are cut. Our student Evelyn guessed nearest to 414 so she was the one to draw the face on our pumpkin for Mrs. Martinez to carve. We did science, math, writing and art during our activity! The kids loved it!”
