Third Term ends Friday, March 18th. Can you even believe it? We have a lot to accomplish in the last term of school year 2021-22. Please support us with this by helping your students be at school every day rested and prepared to learn.

The weather this time of year is very unpredictable. Students should bring coats for outside play every day. We go outside every possible day.

Please remind your children how important it is to use kind words with each other. They are young and often don’t understand how their words affect others. We work very hard to help students navigate this area. Hearing about this from both school and home can be so powerful. Another area that we work on is accepting responsibility when we make mistakes. We help children learn from mistakes by going through questions like: “What happened?” “What were you thinking when that happened?” “What have you thought about since?” “Who has been affected by what happened?” “What do you think you need to do to make things right?” I am often very impressed with the mature conversations that students have been able to have with me and with their peers. Your children are very capable in recognizing their part in certain situations. Our world needs much more of this. I appreciate very much the opportunity to work with children in developing these skills. I work on them myself and believe it is so important.

5th Grade Students Maturation Presentations are scheduled for Friday, April 1, 2022 As a reminder, the format for the maturation program has changed. Parents are not invited to attend the presentations but rather encouraged to  go over the information found on the website about the presentation before or after and share with your child as you choose. Please reach out to your child’s teacher or Principal Franklin if you have questions.

Standard 6.HD.1- How the timing of puberty and adolescent development varies, including that there is a wide range of what is healthy or typical. Standard 6.HD.2- The basic structures of the reproductive and endocrine systems and their respective functions. Standard 6. HD.3- The body changes that accompany puberty and how puberty prepares human bodies for reproduction. Standard 6. HD.4- The physical, social, and emotional changes that occur during puberty and adolescence and healthy ways to manage these changes. Standard 6. HD.5- Identifies trusted adults (for example, parent, guardian, relative, teacher, counselor, clergy) to talk with about puberty. Standard 6. HD.6- How to clearly say no, leave a situation or interaction, identify, and talk with a trusted adult when feeling uncomfortable, afraid, or unsafe. We encourage parents to have open and honest conversations with your students that are aligned to your families’ values. Dental Varnishing Spring Creek Dental Varnishing ~ Wednesday, March 23rd Dental Varnishing Consent Forms will be sent home this coming week. Each student needs to have their own consent form and only students with a signed consent form will have the varnishing done. Please send in the form even if you do not want to have the varnishing done. A form is attached for your convenience along with an information sheet.

5th Grade Students – Camp Big Springs Camp Big Springs registration has been extended. All registration fees and online registration forms are now due by Friday, March 25th. We accept cash or checks. Also, credit cards are accepted. See Mrs. Harker, secretary, in the office to pay with a credit card. El tercer trimestre finaliza el viernes 18 de marzo. ¿Puedes tan siquiera creerlo? Tenemos mucho que lograr en el último trimestre del año escolar 2021-22. Por favor apóyenos con esto ayudando a sus estudiantes a estar en la escuela todos los días descansados ​​y preparados para aprender.

El clima en esta época del año es muy impredecible. Los estudiantes deben traer abrigos para jugar afuera todos los días. Salimos todos los días posibles.

Por favor, recuérdeles a sus hijos lo importante que es usar palabras amables entre ellos. Son pequeños/jóvenes y, a menudo, no entienden cómo sus palabras afectan a los demás. Trabajamos muy duro para ayudar a los estudiantes a navegar esta área. Escuchar sobre esto tanto en la escuela como en el hogar puede ser muy poderoso. Sus hijos son muy capaces de reconocer su parte en ciertas situaciones. Nuestro mundo necesita mucho más de esto. Aprecio mucho la oportunidad de trabajar con niños en el desarrollo de estas habilidades. Yo mismo trabajo en ellos y creo que es muy importante.

Las presentaciones de maduración de los estudiantes de 5to grado están programadas para el viernes 1 de abril de 2022 Como recordatorio, el formato del programa de maduración ha cambiado. Los padres no están invitados a asistir a las presentaciones, sino que se les anima a repasar la información que se encuentra en el sitio web sobre la presentación antes o después y compartirla con su hijo según lo deseen. Comuníquese con el maestro de su hijo o con el director Franklin si tiene preguntas.

Barnizado Dental Spring Creek Dental Varnishing ~ Miércoles 23 de marzo Los formularios de consentimiento de barnizado dental se enviarán a casa la próxima semana.
