Parent Teacher Conferences Both November 3rd and 4th will be early release 1:30 p.m. Friday Schedule November 3rd 1:45 p.m. – 3:45 p.m. November 4th 1:45 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. Please sign up as soon as possible so that we can arrange for support with translation and other assistance as needed. Hopefully you saw the message that sign ups are available on the Spring Creek Website https://springcreek.provo.edu/ You will have the option of scheduling a face to face conference with the teacher that will be held in the classroom or a ZOOM meeting. If you need assistance getting signed up, please call the front office at 801-370-4650. Please take advantage of this time to meet with your child’s teacher and learn of your child’s progress during the first term of school.

Please come to our Annual Title I meeting which will be held during our Parent Teacher Conferences this Wednesday, Nov. 3rd, 1:45-4:00 and Thursday, Nov. 4th, 1:45-7:45 in the main entrance area of the school. At the annual meeting you will learn about:

What is Title I? Academic Information Parents Right to Know Parent Engagement Communication with staff We will have information available on how to help your child with reading at home and will be giving a free book to every student! There will also be prizes and treats!

We will be doing Lights On! for After School where you can learn about the benefits of Afterschool Programs and what we offer at Spring Creek Elementary.

Spring Creek Picture Retake/Make-Up Day is Coming! Tuesday, November 2nd

**If you would like a retake or ordering pictures contact the school office at 801-370-4650 to have your child put on the list to have their picture taken.

Book Fair The Spring Creek Book Fair starts Monday, November 1st! Students will shop during their class library time. Look in your child’s backpack for a flier with book fair hours and information.

Students will preview the book fair on Monday or Tuesday and make a wish list. A video preview will also be posted to the school website for families wishing to preview from home. Use this as a guide to know how much money to send with them to school on their shopping day(see below). If you prefer to shop with your child, you are welcome to shop with them during parent teacher conferences on Wednesday or Thursday. The last shopping day will be Friday, November 5th. Springville Museum of Art Spiritual and Religious Art Competition If your student is participating in the Springville Museum of Art’s Spiritual and Religious Art Competition, all artwork must be turned in to Mrs. Robert’s by Tuesday November 2nd. The prompts for this year’s Youth Art Competition will focus on Divinity and what that means to each student. We encourage students to consider the following prompts when thinking of subject matter: – What does “Divine” or “Divinity” mean to you? – When do you feel close to something bigger than yourself? – Where do you see Divinity in yourself? What is your superpower? What superpower would you like?

All entries that are submitted need to have an entry form attached to the back of the artwork. If your student needs an entry form, have them visit Mrs. Roberts or you can go to the smofa.org website for more information.”

Several students have participated in this art show in the past. If their piece is selected it will be on display at the museum. It is an optional activity that we support our students in participating if they choose. Mrs. Roberts has been helping students that wanted to participate. If you have questions, please reach out to her.

NOTIFICATION OF ANNUAL SCHOOL HEARING SCREENING Hearing is an important part of your student’s ability to learn and progress at school. In accordance with state and federal law, an annual hearing screening is conducted at your student’s school to help identify hearing concerns. The Utah State Department of Health has issued screening guidelines to help prevent the exposure and spread of COVID-19 during screening. This year, your school’s hearing screening is scheduled on: Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2021. Hearing screening this year in the elementary schools includes preschool (if not previously screened), Kindergarten, 3rd grade, all students in special ed and students who are new to the district. Please let your student’s teacher know if you would like them screened and they are not part of one of the groups above. If you DO NOT want your student to be screened, please send an email or signed and dated note to your student’s teacher prior to the screening indicating you don’t want them to be screened. Concurso de arte espiritual y religioso del Museo de Arte de Springville Si su estudiante participa en la Competencia de Arte Espiritual y Religioso del Museo de Arte de Springville, todas las obras de arte deben entregarse a la Sra. NOTIFICACIÓN ANUAL DE LA PRUEBA AUDITIVA ESCOLAR Estimados padres, La audición es una parte muy importante para la habilidad de aprendizaje y el progreso de su hijo/a en la escuela.
